At the age of 33, South Korean music artist Choi Sung-bong was discovered dead from what appears to be suicide.
According to The Korea Times, he was discovered by police at his residence in the Yeoksam-dong neighborhood of Seoul at 9.41 am on Tuesday.
It happened barely two years after he was exposed for faking Cancer and soliciting financial support from admirers. Later, he expressed regret for the lie.
Sung-bong gained notoriety on Korea’s Got Talent on tvN in 2011 when he was 22 years old, and afterward, he signed a record deal with Bong Bong Company.
His operatic rendition of Ennio Morricone’s Nella Fantasia garnered over 21 million views on YouTube and earned him second place in the competition.
Stars like Justin Bieber, BoA, and Jung-Hwa Umwho also praised his performance footage. Choi Sung-bong, a South Korean singer, was discovered dead from an apparent suicide.
His obituary details are yet to be revealed, but his funeral will be done in the presence of his family and close friends.

On June 4, 2011, following his debut on the program, some individuals accused him of hiding the fact that he had graduated from an art high school, despite the fact that he had little access to funds and was rumored to have been given his certificate out of sympathy.

Choi apologized to the media and said, “I am not currently suffering from Cancer, and I admit that I am not currently suffering from colon, prostate, thyroid, lung, brain, or heart Cancer.”
